Warehouse Assistant

The Position
A key member of the Airdrie Food Bank team, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting warehouse operations including, safety, inventory, storage, food rotation and supporting volunteers. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining inventory of stock, including food rotation
- Ensuring safe and proper food handling practices
- Connecting with partner agencies and food banks to support food sharing
- Completing accurate food tracking
- Receiving drop offs from donors and volunteer
- Receiving and processing deliveries
- Supporting and training volunteers as needed
- Supporting food bank programs and services
- Other duties as required
Qualifications / Skills
- Completion of high school
- Previous warehouse experience involving food is an asset
- This is an active position requiring frequent lifting, moving inventory throughout the warehouse and use of equipment.
- Ability to operate power pallet jacks is an asset
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Valid driver's license & clean driver's abstract
Working conditions
Monday to Friday (8:00-4:00); occasional evening or weekend may be required
40 hours per week
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
