Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. This position involves installing solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in every project. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in construction/roofing/solar or a related field, and electrical knowledge to support seamless solar panel installations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while working in a dynamic and safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels, and mounting systems according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lift platforms.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for assembly, wiring, and mounting tasks.
- Perform electrical wiring, low voltage connections, and system testing to ensure proper operation.
- Assist with site preparation including trenching, excavation, and foundation work.
- Conduct safety inspections throughout the installation process and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
Experience
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as telehandlers, forklifts, and aerial lift platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to various site conditions.
- Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
- Electrical knowledge and experience.
- Construction or roofing experience.
- Prior experience in solar preferred.
- Fall Protection certification considered an asset.
- Electrician apprenticeship considered an asset.
