Merchandise Buyer

The Merchandise Buyer at The Kids Shoppe is a two-level position.

One responsibility is to select the right merchandise from customer drop offs based on company guidelines. The other part is the pricing of merchandise with the help of company's pricing guide. To succeed in this role, one must be familiar with current children style, trends, and brands.

This position is a part time position, at least three days a week. Two to three Saturdays in a month and approximately one Sunday/month. More hours might be available based on performance and company's need.

Must be able to work Saturdays and one Sunday a month Availability for opening and closing shifts are a must.

Main part of the job:

• Process incoming drop offs following company guidelines, to assure right items are selected for purchase
• Accurately and fast enter inventory into pricing system
• Outstanding and warm customer service

Additional duties:

• Create a warm and welcoming environment in the store
• Make meaningful connections with clients
• Connect, both verbally and in writing with different people in a calm, courteous and effective manner
• Detail oriented to handle several tasks and changing priorities
• Answer all inquiries in a friendly and professional way in person, on phone and on social media
• Maintain sales floor clean and organized
• Take drop offs from clients and provide offers with high level of professionalism
• Prepare items for sales floor, including cleaning, tagging, packaging, hanging etc.
• Act with integrity and respect
• Use sound judgement when making decisions

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: Up to $18.75 per hour
