Engineering Technologist/Technician

Job description

  • Prepare engineering designs related to hydro and telecom projects.

  • Create CAD drawings from concept stage to final design using AutoCAD

  • Field visit to collect measurements and perform site inspection

  • Perform pole loading analysis using SPIDACalc and QuickPole software, cable pull calculations
  • Prepare project related estimates , material takeoff, project scheduling and construction packages
  • Liaise with clients and design staff
  • Performs other design and project related duties as required

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience in design projects

  • Must be proficient using AutoCAD, Experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu's

  • Experience with underground and overhead hydro design projects
  • Good understanding of related industry standards such as CSA 22.3 and ESA code
  • Self-motivated, excellent verbal, written and communication skills, ability to learn new skills
  • Engineering degree or college diploma in electrical or civil program
  • Must be Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or in the process of certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00-$48,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
