Position: Retail Clerk / Barista

Position Type: Full-time/Part-time based on availability

Location: Lukes Drug Mart - Bridgeland and Killarney locations

With the additions of soft serve, coffee service, vinyl records, lifestyle items and grocery as well as a second location in Killarney established in 2010, Lukes aims to offer a one stop shop for everyday living.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Store Managers and other team members, you will be responsible for:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Operate the POS (point-of-sale) to process customer transactions for retail, coffee orders and grocery items
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized retail space and coffee bar area, adhering to food safety guidelines
  • Prepare coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages orders
  • Prepare soft serve orders and ensure the soft serve machine is clean and filled
  • Replenish stock on retail shelves and ensure merchandise is tidy
  • Assist with stocking new deliveries
  • Educate customers about product offerings and make recommendations
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the coffee bar area
  • Other duties as required

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in customer service
  • Availability for min of 2 closing shifts on weekdays and open availability weekends (Sat/Sun)
  • Previous experience in retail or food service roles is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is an asset
  • Familiarity with coffee brewing equipment and techniques is an asset
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • 4 - 8 hour shifts
  • Weekend availability required

  • Shifts may rotate between the Bridgeland and Killarney locations
  • Please note, morning shifts start as earlier as 6:45am
