Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Digital Product Management to lead our Advisor Experience initiatives within our omnichannel insurance and wealth offering. This crucial role will spearhead the development and optimization of digital tools and systems that empower our advisors, enhance their productivity, and seamlessly integrate with our client-facing platforms.
As the Director, you will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive product strategy that leverages cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize advisor-client interactions, lead management, and overall advisor efficiency. Your work will be pivotal in creating a truly omnichannel experience that bridges self-serve client journeys with high-touch advisor support.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering Advisor facing capabilities, preferably with experience in AI, CRM and telephony-based technologies. Your expertise in navigating complex ecosystems, integrating diverse technologies, and driving innovation in advisor tooling will be essential to our success.
In this role, you will balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that significantly enhance advisor productivity and client satisfaction. Your ability to understand both advisor and client needs, coupled with a deep technical acumen, will be crucial in creating seamless, efficient, and effective digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap:
- Develop a comprehensive product vision and strategy for the Advisor Experience platform
- Create and manage product roadmaps that align with overall business objectives and client needs
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure the Advisor Experience strategy complements the DTC client experience
Omnichannel Integration:
- Design and implement solutions that enable seamless transitions between self-serve client journeys and advisor-assisted experiences
- Develop strategies to optimize lead management and distribution across digital and human touchpoints
- Ensure consistent and cohesive experiences across all channels (digital, telephony, AI-assisted, in-person)
Advisor Productivity Tools:
- Lead the development of digital tools that maximize advisor efficiency and effectiveness
- Implement AI and data-driven solutions to enhance advisor decision-making and client service capabilities
- Continuously analyze and improve advisor workflows and digital interfaces
Technology and Innovation:
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies relevant to advisor-client interactions and financial services
- Drive the adoption of innovative solutions such as AI-powered assistants, predictive analytics, and automated underwriting tools
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure technology infrastructure
Data and Analytics:
- Develop strategies to leverage data for personalized advisor-client interactions
- Implement analytics tools to measure and optimize advisor performance and client outcomes
- Drive data-informed decision making across the advisor platform
Cross-functional Leadership:
- Work closely with sales, operations, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of advisor tools with business processes and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the DTC Product Management team to create a unified ecosystem
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product team and across the organization
Performance Management:
- Define and track key performance indicators for the Advisor Experience platform
- Develop and monitor metrics that demonstrate the ROI of advisor digital tools
- Regularly report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership
Required Competencies
Product Leadership:
- Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies in complex, regulated environments
- Experience in both 0-1 and 1-n product development phases
- Strong understanding of financial advisor workflows and pain points
Technical Acumen:
- Deep knowledge of CRM systems, lead management tools, and advisor productivity software
- Understanding of AI, machine learning, and data analytics applications in financial services
- Familiarity with API integrations and microservices architecture
Omnichannel Expertise:
- Experience in designing and implementing omnichannel customer experiences
- Understanding of how to seamlessly integrate digital and human touchpoints
Agile Leadership:
- Strong background in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
- Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution and rapid iteration
Analytical Thinking:
- Data-driven approach to product development and decision making
- Expertise in defining and analyzing key metrics for advisor and business success
Stakeholder Management:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders, including advisors, executives, and technology teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years leading advisor-facing digital products
- Proven track record in financial services or insurtech industry
- Deep understanding of financial advisor needs, workflows, and regulatory environment
- Strong technical background with experience in CRM, analytics, and AI/ML applications
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor high-performing teams

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
