Software Development Engineer II


Dartmouth, NS
|
Hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test new software applications, SDKs, and APIs.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing software applications.
  • Lead software development projects following formal processes, including design, code reviews, adherence to standards, and testing.
  • Provide application support, analysis, and design for global business systems and functions.
  • Prepare and review documentation, including requirements analyses, design specs, test plans, release notes, and user guides.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and with business partners.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new technologies to improve products and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to define project scope, deliverables, and team requirements.
  • Proven experience leading small project teams and meeting milestones and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies:
  • Java, J2EE, EJB, JavaScript, AJAX, REST, SQL, DHTML, Linux, ASP, .NET, SOAP, C, C++, C#, and Shell scripting.
  • Demonstrated success in a deadline-driven, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving requirements and schedules.
  • Experience in enterprise web application development preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum) is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
