About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, reliable, and engaging Aqua Fitness Instructor to lead group water-based fitness classes for adults at our Orleans pool. This role focuses on delivering safe, effective, and enjoyable aqua fitness workouts that accommodate a wide range of fitness levels, abilities, and ages.

Our programs emphasize movement quality, cardiovascular fitness, strength, and mobility, all in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Program Delivery

  • Lead structured aqua fitness classes (e.g., Aqua Fit, Low Impact Aqua, Core & Cardio, formats).
  • Design classes that include proper warm-up, conditioning, and cool-down segments.
  • Modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels, injuries, or limitations.
  • Maintain a positive, motivating, and inclusive class atmosphere.
  • Use music appropriately to enhance class flow and engagement.

Safety & Pool Standards

  • Ensure all participants follow pool safety rules and guidelines.
  • Monitor participants continuously for signs of fatigue or distress.
  • Maintain awareness of pool depth, equipment use, and class spacing.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations and follow facility protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience teaching aqua fitness or group fitness classes (required).
  • Current Aquatic Fitness Certification in one of the following: WaterArt – Aquafit Instructor or Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance Inc. – Aquafitness Leader or equivalent from an accredited organization
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C (required)
  • Comfortable teaching in shallow and/or deep water.
  • Strong verbal communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage adult participants.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week
