Toronto, Ontario, Canada CQ Search Group Ltd. Full time

Location:
Waterloo, ON (On-site) (Projects across Ontario)

Employment Type:
Full-Time, Permanent

Compensation:
$100,000 – $120,000 base

Benefits:
RRSP matching, flexible benefits, wellness/gym support

About the Role

We are supporting a
Waterloo-based mechanical contractor
specializing in
water and wastewater infrastructure projects
across Ontario. The company delivers technically complex treatment, process, and construction-driven work for municipal, industrial, and commercial clients.

This is a
hands-on Project Manager role
with
full ownership of assigned projects
from pre-construction through commissioning and close-out. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to execution, working directly with site teams, and owning outcomes — not a portfolio-only or desk-heavy PM position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage water and wastewater construction projects from
    pre-construction through close-out
  • Coordinate
site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Develop and manage
project schedules, budgets, and work plans
  • Oversee
change orders, progress billing, cost tracking, and forecasting
  • Act as the
    primary point of contact
    for clients and external stakeholders
  • Support and enforce
health & safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in procurement, subcontractor coordination, and field execution planning
  • Work closely with field teams during installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Maintain clear project documentation, reporting, and communication

What This Role Is

  • Execution-focused and delivery-driven
  • Hands-on with strong exposure to site activities
  • Ownership-based with real accountability
  • Well-suited for PMs who enjoy field coordination and problem-solving

Ideal Background & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in
    construction project management
  • Exposure to
water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of
construction execution, scheduling, and cost control
  • Experience coordinating trades, subcontractors, and site supervision
  • Comfortable managing change orders, progress billing, and client communication
  • Engineering, construction management, or technical diploma/degree preferred
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an asset, not required
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Ontario as required

Compensation & Culture

  • Competitive base salary:
    $100K–$120K
  • RRSP matching and comprehensive benefits
  • Practical, low-ego team culture
  • Strong ownership mentality and collaborative environment
  • Opportunity to grow with a stable, well-established contractor
