As an Admissions Call & Engagement Specialist, you'll be the voice that connects aspiring creatives to their future in film, television, animation, writing, game design, VR/AR, acting, and beyond. You'll speak daily with prospective students, answer inbound inquiries, follow up on leads, and book Admissions Advisors' calendars, working as part of a fast-moving, tight-knit admissions team that thrives on collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students via high-volume inbound and outbound phone calls.
• Proactively call prospective students and leads to provide information about Vancouver Film School programs and next steps.
• Book and manage Admissions Advisors' calendars, ensuring qualified prospects are scheduled efficiently and accurately.
• Respond to inbound inquiries by phone and email with clarity, warmth, and urgency.
• Conduct discovery-style conversations to understand applicants' interests in film, television, animation, game design, VR/AR, acting, writing, makeup artistry, and related creative fields.
• Clearly explain admissions processes, program pathways, and application requirements.
• Accurately document all interactions in the CRM, ensuring follow-ups, notes, and outcomes are recorded.
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects to support conversion and engagement throughout the admissions funnel.
• Work closely with Admissions Advisors and the broader admissions team to ensure a seamless and positive prospective student experience.
• Meet daily and weekly activity expectations related to call volume, bookings, and response times.
• Represent VFS with professionalism, enthusiasm, and authenticity in every interaction.
• Stay informed about VFS programs, events, and admissions timelines to confidently answer questions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a phone-forward role such as admissions, sales, customer service, outreach, call centre, hospitality reservations, or appointment booking.
• Comfort spending the majority of the workday on inbound and outbound phone calls.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and guide conversations with confidence.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to identify a prospective student's interests and motivations.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple conversations, follow-ups, and calendars accurately.
• Experience working with CRM systems or databases to document interactions and track next steps.
• Results-oriented mindset with comfort working toward call, booking, or response-time targets.
• Ability to remain professional, upbeat, and focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Genuine interest in the arts, creative industries, or entertainment education (film, television, animation, game design, VR/AR, writing, acting, or makeup artistry).
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit admissions team.
• Tech-comfortable and able to learn new systems quickly.
• Reliable, punctual, and accountable—this role depends on consistency and follow-through.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$43,000.00 per year
