Key Responsibilities and Other Duties:The employee duties include but are not limited to:
- Manning lab early in morning at least once a week between 3AM to 7AM.
- Take charge in learning the process and procedures, executed for ensuring quality assurance and safety of sugar and food products.
- Collecting samples throughout the refinery and returning them to the lab for analysis.
- Assist on sampling and analysis of raw material, raw sugar, incoming molasses, and starch
- Assist on sampling and analysis of in-process materials such as blending syrup, molasses, and white sugar.
- Support on collection, analysis and documentation for final products.
- Support in fulfilling customer requirements and requests in respect of quality, regulatory, and other standards.
- Check on samples of white sugar, soft sugar, icing, cubes, syrups, liquid sugar, Rogers Golden Syrup.
- Checking qualitative and quantitative sediments of in-line and final products.
- Assist on creating report and analysis of projects.
- Assist in data input and management of documentation for release of COA and Weekly Sugar Quality Report.
- Cleaning, equipment calibration and maintaining lab to ensure precise and accurate results.
- Assist on environmental sampling and testing to ensure that the company adheres to environmental norms
- Any and all other tasks as and when required.
Skills required for accomplishment of duties.
- Computer proficient
- Able to lift heavy objects occasionally during sample collection
- Good English (Spoken & Written)
- Good interpersonal and communicating skills
- Good planning and organizing skills
- Safety conscious and possess understanding of safety rules
- Knowledge of laboratory test equipment
- Good time management skills
- Ability to interface with Production employees
- Willingness to learn food safety and assurance procedure

Academic and Professional Prerequisites
- Student of Food Science and Nutrition preferred or related Science field.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Laboratory and food safety work experience in a laboratory is an asset.
