Are you passionate about taxes and love helping people? Do you have a knack for problem-solving and a talent for building lasting relationships? We're looking for a Tax Associate to join our team and make an impact by providing top-notch tax services to our members while promoting the benefits of our other credit union products.

What You'll Do:

• Tax Preparation & Filing: You'll handle everything from preparing, filing, and invoicing personal income tax returns to providing expert advice on tax matters.
• Client Engagement: You'll actively connect with customers to request any missing information and keep them updated throughout the process.
• Business Development: Reach out to existing and new clients to maintain relationships, promote our tax services, and create opportunities to cross-sell other credit union products.
• Problem Solving: Help customers with tax-related inquiries by researching and finding solutions to their questions, with occasional assistance from CRA.
• Reporting & Administration: Keep the team informed with weekly updates on tax services activities and help with general office tasks like appointment scheduling and record maintenance.

What You Bring:

• Experience: You've completed an Accounting Diploma and have 2-3 years of experience in preparing individual tax returns (or an equivalent mix of training and experience).
• Technical Skills: You're proficient in tax software (e.g., Profile Tax) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Bonus points if you're familiar with CRA regulations and self-employed tax rules
• Sales & Communication: You're a natural communicator and have experience in sales or client engagement.
• Attention to Detail: You know how to focus on the small things that make a big impact.
• Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy sharing ideas with your team.
