At aaniin, every conversation starts with aaniin. We are reclaiming economic space for Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs by structuring retail and commerce around community, collaboration, and Indigenous ownership. Our pop-up at the Toronto Eaton Centre brings Indigenous brands, beadwork, fashion, and art into one of the most visible spaces in Canada—inviting millions to engage in meaningful conversations through culture and design.

Job Description

As a Storyteller with aaniin retail inc., you'll be part of the team bringing our pop-up store to life—creating memorable customer experiences through storytelling, connection, and great service. While "Storyteller" is our title, this is essentially a retail sales associate role focused on customer engagement, sales, and daily store operations.

Your responsibilities include:

Engaging customers in authentic conversations that share the stories behind our products.

Assisting customers in selecting products and completing purchases confidently.

Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, and cashing out customers.

Restocking shelves, maintaining inventory levels, and organizing back-stock areas.

Assisting with merchandising, displays, and ensuring the store remains clean and welcoming.

Demonstrating strong product knowledge, including all vendors and the diverse range of Indigenous brands represented within the space.

Supporting the team with opening and closing duties, including securing the space and systems.

You have flexible availability and understand the importance of being present during the busy holiday season.

Retail or customer service experience is an asset, but a strong work ethic and people-first attitude matter most.

You're comfortable handling transactions, restocking, and working as part of a collaborative team.
