Overview

We are seeking an on-call scheduled based on operational requirements Food Safety Sanitation Worker to join our team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within our food production facility. This role is essential in ensuring that all areas of the manufacturing environment adhere to strict sanitation protocols, promoting a safe and hygienic workspace. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, janitorial duties, or custodial work, with a strong focus on food processing environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality assurance and food safety compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of production areas, equipment, and facilities following established protocols
  • Conduct industrial cleaning tasks using appropriate tools and cleaning agents to maintain hygiene standards
  • Assist with sanitation procedures for food processing lines to prevent contamination
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouses, storage areas, and common spaces within the facility
  • Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting and handling of cleaning supplies or equipment
  • Document sanitation activities and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cleanliness and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Prior janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred, especially within food production or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures specific to food processing facilities is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and work efficiently in physically demanding tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies preferred
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work effectively as part of a team
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not required
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to on-call scheduling as needed

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to bend and stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25kgs and lift and/or move more than 25kgs with the aid of a co-worker. The employee must push/pull equipment, manual or automated pallet jacks, climb ladder and other equipment. Frequent flexing, extending, and turning of the neck and head are required.

Exposure to noisy, dusty, refrigerated, and hot environments
