Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Perform basic automotive repair and maintenance as needed to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as required for loading and unloading tasks.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of freight transportation.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- A commitment to safety standards and practices in all aspects of driving and handling freight.
