Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Technician to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics using a variety of CAD software. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to construction and design projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. The CAD Technician will collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop detailed plans that support successful project execution. We are hoping to have drawings from various other systems consolidated into a Revit platform

Duties

  • Develop and modify detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and SolidWorks.
  • Prepare schematics, layouts, and technical documentation for construction and engineering projects.
  • Assist in creating visualizations including 2D animations for project presentations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into accurate CAD drawings.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain organized CAD files and documentation for easy retrieval and updates.
  • Support drafting activities related to civil, mechanical, or architectural projects as needed.
  • Ensure all designs meet client specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of drafting principles and schematics development in construction or engineering contexts.
  • Familiarity with 2D animation techniques is a plus for creating visual project presentations.
  • Prior experience in civil engineering, architecture, or construction industries is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position is integral to delivering high-quality design documentation that supports successful project completion across various engineering disciplines.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Freelance

Pay: $17.75-$38.59 per hour
