Associate Producer

HB Studios is a driving force in the creation of sports video games and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf. We have an opportunity for an Associate Producer to join our team of developers, creators, and fans, who are passionate about the art and process involved in video game development.
The Associate Producer supports the delivery of high-quality game features by driving coordination, clarity, and execution within an assigned area of development. They work closely with their Producer and cross-discipline teams to ensure the schedule, tools, and communication enable the team to meet milestones effectively. This role blends project management discipline with creative collaboration, helping teams stay focused, informed, and unblocked.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Production & Planning
- Support Producers in building and maintaining project schedules and milestone deliverables.
- Track progress toward short-term and long-term goals, escalating risks, and proposing solutions.
- Support sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions to ensure alignment on priorities and dependencies.
- Coordinate across PODs to manage shared resources, cross-team dependencies, and milestone commitments.
Communication & Coordination
- Act as a central point of contact for day-to-day communication between disciplines, ensuring updates, risks, and decisions flow clearly and efficiently.
- Support and help Coordinate stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to surface blockers and track progress.
- Prepare and distribute Production Reports, build notes, and other key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the flow of information between HB, 2K, and external partners as needed.
Tools & Process
- Own and maintain Jira project tracking, ensuring consistency and effective usage across the team.
- Support setup and maintenance of dashboards and reports for bugs, velocity, and progress tracking.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen efficiency and communication.
- Influence the creation and maintenance of project documentation and production processes.
Feature & Partner Support
- Assist with management, tracking, and approvals of licensed assets
- Contribute to testing plans and feedback loops to support feature quality and delivery confidence.
- Support Producers in managing external deliverables, feedback cycles, and reporting for publishing or partner needs.
Essential Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor's level degree or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of progressively complex related experience.
- Knowledge of the game development life cycle, theory, and technology.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Excel).
- Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and dependencies in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and driving clarity on priorities and next steps.
- Proactive problem solver who thrives on helping teams stay focused and efficient.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Possess work ethic, flexibility and dedication to excellence.
Location/Relocation Requirements
- Position based in Nova Scotia
- Willingness to relocate to Nova Scotia is preferred
- Relocation support may be available for the right candidate
