About the role
Hunter Scouts is seeking a Senior D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Core Technical Consultant to design, build, and optimize extensions and integrations for an enterprise liquor retail client (confidential). This is a hands-on technical role working with X++, Azure DevOps/LCS, and data pipelines to ensure performance, reliability, and smooth releases across CHE (Tier-1 cloud-hosted) and Tier-2 environments. You'll contribute to custom extension development, own CI/CD and release pipelines, implement real-time and batch integrations, and support analytics integrations into Azure Data Lake and Power BI Embedded.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build custom D365 F&O extensions in X++ using extensibility patterns (Chain of Command, Event Handlers, Custom Services)
  • Own and manage Azure DevOps and LCS pipelines: builds, releases, and deployments across CHE (Tier-1) and Tier-2 environments
  • Develop and support real-time and batch integrations using DMF, OData, Business/Data Events, Azure Logic Apps, and Power Automate
  • Configure and maintain Azure Data Lake and Entity Store integrations to support analytics and reporting, including Power BI Embedded
  • Troubleshoot and optimize D365 F&O application and integration performance and reliability
  • Provide technical leadership and cross-functional support across Finance and Supply Chain modules
  • Maintain code quality, branching strategies, and release governance aligned with best practices

Requirements

  • Must reside in Canada and be authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship
  • 5+ years of experience in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or AX) development with strong X++ hands-on experience
  • 3+ years managing Azure DevOps and Lifecycle Services (LCS) build/release pipelines for D365 F&O, including deployments to CHE (Tier-1) and Tier-2 environments
  • 3+ years developing integrations for D365 F&O using DMF, OData, and Business/Data Events and experience implementing integrations with Azure Logic Apps or Power Automate
  • 2+ years configuring and managing Azure Data Lake and Entity Store integrations and experience integrating D365 F&O with Power BI Embedded

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in retail, preferably liquor retail
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate (or similar)
  • Experience with automated testing for D365 F&O (e.g., RSAT, ATL) and implementing code quality gates in Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or Synapse Analytics for data pipelines
  • Experience with telemetry/monitoring (LCS Monitoring, Azure Application Insights) and upgrades/migrations from AX 2012 to D365 F&O
