We are seeking a highly energetic and visionary Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in delivering mechanical, electrical, design and energy audit solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mechanical engineering, system design, and manufacturing processes, with a strong background in CAD software, automation, and control systems. This leadership role requires strategic thinking, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to oversee complex projects from conception to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Technical and Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical, electrical, and energy engineers/auditors, including hiring, performance management, professional development, and fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Manage project portfolios, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation to deliver on time and within scope.
  • Drive innovation in audit methodologies, tools (e.g., energy modeling software), and incorporation of emerging technologies like renewables or smart systems.

Entrepreneurial Focus and Business Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, such as expanding services to new sectors (e.g., renewables, ESG compliance) or geographic markets.
  • Contribute to business development: build client relationships, prepare proposals, participate in pitches, and secure contracts.
  • Develop growth strategies, including partnerships, service diversification, or scaling the team to increase revenue.
  • Align technical capabilities with market needs, tracking industry trends (e.g., decarbonization, energy regulations) to position the firm competitively.
  • Monitor financial performance of the division, including profitability of projects and overall business unit growth.

Qualifications

  • This role typically 10+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical/energy engineering, proven leadership, and a track record in consulting or auditing environments. An entrepreneurial approach is critical for transforming technical expertise into sustainable business expansion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00-$195,000.00 per year
