We provide high-quality care to 127 senior residents with complex needs in a safe, supportive, and home-like environment. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our residents through holistic, person-centered care.

What You'll Do:

As the Manager of Social Work & Therapeutic Services, you will:

  • Lead and oversee social work and therapeutic programs including recreation, music, art, horticultural, and spiritual care.
  • Provide direct support and counselling to residents and families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Advocate for residents' choices and preferences throughout their care journey.
  • Manage departmental operations, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support staff development through training, performance evaluations, and education programs.
  • Promote a respectful and safe environment for residents, families, and staff.

What We're Looking For:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (Gerontology coursework preferred)
  • Registered with the BC College of Social Workers
  • Certificates in Human Resource Management & Leadership Training

Experience:

  • Healthcare social work, preferably in long-term care
  • Geriatric social work, recreation, and therapeutic services
  • Leadership role, including HR and labour relations in a unionized setting

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Deep understanding of person-centered care and seniors' needs
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and crisis management abilities
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
