HVAC Helper

POSITION SUMMARY

The Helper assists the assigned journeyperson with various tasks to complete the job. This includes taking ongoing direction and maintaining supplies and order to the work site. This position reports directly to the assigned journeyperson.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain cleanliness of shop, van and space of work at job sites.
2. Ensure all material is accounted for and van is stocked daily.
3. Assist journeyperson with assigned tasks.
4. Learn from journeyperson by watching, asking questions and assisting with items not requiring licensed technician

(under the direction of the journeyperson).

5. Load and unload tools at job site.

6. Prepare paperwork including time and materials sheets for processing.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum High School Diploma. Knowledge of regulating codes and trades considered an asset.

2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The incumbent must be extremely organized with good time management, listening and planning skills. Verbal and written communication is essential. Must work well in a team environment.

3. LEVEL OF DIRECTION RECEIVED

The incumbent will receive ongoing daily direction from the assigned journeyperson.

4. CONTACTS

Within the organization:

Journeyperson- all Helpers are assigned to a journeyperson and the Helper will work alongside assisting the journeyperson in various tasks.

Outside the organization:

Customers- Introductions at commencement of job.

5. WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical conditions:

Lifting (maximum 100 lbs), repetitive motions, walking, climbing ladders, extensive time spent in awkward positions and/or on knees.

Psychological conditions:

Tight deadlines
