We are a full-service supplier of fertilizer, pest management products, including biologicals and bees, seeds and other consumable goods to the greenhouse, nursery and specialty horticulture industries in Canada and the USA.
We have a vacancy coming up in early 2026 for an IPM Specialist in the Leamington area.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the technical support
and sales of biological and chemical pest control products to new and existing greenhouse customers. - Recommend proactive strategies to minimize pest populations by assisting with the implementation of integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
- Support greenhouse customers in identifying pest issues and finding appropriate, cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct regular monitoring of introduced biological pest controls (typically on a weekly basis).
- Ensure a service plan is in place for assigned customers during any absence.
- Keep management informed of any customer-specific issues requiring attention.
- Maintain detailed records of all activities and enter relevant information into the CMS.
- Monitor and assist with bumblebee pollination programs, including covering pollination technician duties when necessary.
- Deliver customer training as needed on topics such as pest identification, pest control products, quality control best practices, and scouting techniques.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of IPM practices and share insights with Plant Products colleagues and customers. Sources of knowledge should extend beyond suppliers.
- Implement practical grower trials for new pest control products and strategies.
- Collaborate with technical sales representatives to manage customer relationships effectively.
- Maintain and grow product sales within the current customer base while actively seeking new business opportunities.
- Keep management informed of changes in market conditions.
- Promote the use of registered pest control products.
- Handle customer complaints in accordance with company procedures.
- Share responsibilities on the Customer Service Desk.
- Assist in maintaining an up-to-date company contact list within CMS.
- Regularly attend industry meetings and participate in company meetings as required.
Experience and education:
- Post-secondary education in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, or a related field.
- Background in greenhouse crop production, ornamental horticulture, or vegetable production.
- Previous agricultural experience with integrated pest management programs.
- Hands-on experience with biological control agents and chemical crop protection products.
- Exposure to customer-facing roles such as technical support, consulting, or sales in the horticulture industry.
- Success in conducting crop scouting, pest identification, and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiarity with record-keeping systems and compliance requirements for greenhouse operations.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of pest and disease life cycles and their impact on greenhouse crops
- Knowledge of beneficial insects, biological control strategies, and pollination programs
- Familiarity with cultural practices that influence pest and disease pressure
- Awareness of current trends and innovations in IPM and sustainable crop protection
- Understanding of greenhouse environmental controls and their role in pest management
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for pesticide use and worker safety
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and customer engagement.
- Analytical skills for interpreting scouting data and recommending solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and data entry systems.
- Comfortable using mobile apps or digital tools for crop monitoring and reporting.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
