We're hiring a Full-Time, Temporary Summer Student, Geospatial to join our Digital Insights GIS team in Edmonton, AB.

Term: Up to 8 months (starting May 2026)
Program: Geography, GIS, Engineering, or related program
Year: Preference may be given to students in later terms; however, all terms will be considered

What You'll Be Doing

As a Summer Student, Geospatial, you will assist the Digital Insights GIS team by supporting EPCOR Water Services through geospatial analytics and spatial data development. Your work will contribute to the EWS Situational Awareness Roadmap and broader GIS initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Development of spatial data and thematic maps
• Sharing spatial datasets with internal EPCOR Water Services clients
• Supporting spatial analysis requests across EWS
• Assisting GIS analysts in providing support and training to staff using:
  • ArcGIS for geospatial analysis
  • GeoFIT mobile workforce management tools

What You'll Learn

The successful candidate will gain an understanding of:

• Spatial data creation using FME and ArcGIS Pro data conversion tools
• Quality control approaches for spatial data creation
• Corporate‑level Enterprise Portal structure and management
• EPCOR culture and how water utilities operate

Work experience will also include:

• Practicing professional presentations to colleagues
• Understanding GIS data structure and workflows

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution
• Experience in a customer service role
• Exceptional communication skills with strong English written and verbal abilities
• Hands‑on experience with ESRI products, preferably ArcGIS Pro 2.x or higher, through post‑secondary coursework
• Hands‑on experience with FME
• Oracle database query knowledge is considered an asset
• A proactive, enthusiastic mindset with strong ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to thrive in collaborative environments while demonstrating integrity, adaptability, and a positive, can‑do attitude

Schedule: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.
