Overview

We are seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to support our finance team in Brandon, MB. This entry-level accounting role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in full-cycle corporate accounting, work in a collaborative environment, and grow their career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for accounts and transactions
  • Reconcile accounts and maintain accounting documentation
  • Prepare and make bank deposits
  • Respond to emails and phone calls from vendors, customers, and inter-company locations
  • Administer corporate credit cards, including expense tracking
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Provide coverage for team members to ensure continuous business operations
  • Provide administrative support to the Divisional Controller

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of accounting or office administration experience (entry-level applicants welcome)
  • Diploma in Business Administration (Accounting focus) or Office Administration with related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or BQE software is an asset
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
