Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and support to our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network security, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This role requires strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to help desk support, ensuring end-users receive prompt and effective solutions. Duties

  • Provide technical support for desktop hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer networking, including LAN configurations, firewalls, VPN access, and wireless connectivity.
  • Manage and escalate incidents using ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy platforms to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist users with software troubleshooting, operating system updates, and hardware repairs or replacements.
  • Configure and maintain network security measures including firewalls and VPNs to protect organizational data.
  • Support help desk operations by responding to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing systems with professionalism and clear communication.
  • Document technical procedures and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on system upgrades, software deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to optimize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles with a solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with network concepts such as LAN/WAN configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networking.
  • Experience using ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy for incident management.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking protocols and security best practices.
  • Ability to support multiple operating systems effectively while providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and remote support applications is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant certifications in Linux or Cisco networking are a plus. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $20.20-$35.90 per hour
