Position Overview:

We're looking for a dependable Vac Truck Operator to join our team. This position involves safely driving and operating our vacuum truck units to perform hydro excavation, daylighting, debris removal, and industrial cleaning. You'll be an important part of our field crew, handling equipment, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring each job runs smoothly from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive and operate vacuum/hydro excavation trucks.
  • Perform hydro-vac excavation to expose underground utilities and pipelines.
  • Control high-pressure water and suction hoses.
  • Load, transport, and properly dispose of excavated materials, debris, and fluids.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Accurately complete trip sheets, service records, and disposal manifests.
  • Assist crew members with setup, hose handling, and additional tasks as needed.
  • Identify and report hazards, near-misses, and equipment issues.

Qualifications:

  • AZ or DZ licence with a clean Driver's abstract.
  • Experience operating vacuum or hydro excavation trucks (preferred).
  • Mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic maintenance checks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and/or at heights.
  • Good communication skills and a strong focus on safety.
  • Manual transmission experience preferred (both auto and manual units in fleet).
