Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on expertise with power tools and hand tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership service, excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, automotive repair and underground mining equipment is highly desirable. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before breakdowns occur
- Use welding and assembly skills for repairs and modifications
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to disassemble and reassemble equipment components
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role within a dealership or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and system diagnostics
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for customer service interactions
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment repair are preferred but not mandatory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $58.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
