Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Automotive Estimator to join our team. The Estimator plays a key role in assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, coordinating with insurance companies, and keeping customers informed throughout the repair process. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills in English, technical knowledge of collision repair terms, and the ability to balance accuracy with efficiency. We appreciate high-quality service.
· Write complete and accurate estimates/supplements in accordance with company and insurance guidelines.
· Take clear, detailed photos of vehicle damage, while liaising with clients on story of vehicle collision or details of damage
· Order parts, confirm availability, and ensure correct discounts are applied from vendors.
· Track and document vehicle progress through the repair process and update statuses in the production schedule.
· Assign labour to technicians, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
· Communicate with customers about the collision repair process, insurance claims, timelines, and repair techniques.
· Conduct daily updates with the front office team to ensure accurate information is provided.
· Review and finalize supplements before vehicle delivery.
· Confirm insurance supplements are properly scanned and attached in the estimating system.
· Verify all labour has been assigned and all parts have been received/invoiced.
· Perform quality control checks before delivery to ensure all repairs meet company standards.
· Deliver vehicles, explain repairs completed, and address customer questions.
· Prepare and upload files for final billing, ensuring proper documentation and notes are completed.
· Perform other estimating and support tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Collision auto body repair or estimating experience.
· Strong written and spoken English communication skills (required).
· Knowledge of insurance company procedures and requirements.
· Proficiency with estimating software (Mitchel Connect, Qapter)
· Proficiency with Client Dealer Management System software (Bodyshop Connect)
· Ability to perform parts look up and confirmation with VIN numbers
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience estimating for high-end vehicles is an asset.
