Job Overview

We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Level 3 First Aid Certified (OFA) Labourer/Carpenter to join our construction team for a renovation project over the next year. This role involves providing immediate first aid response on-site, assisting with various labour tasks, and performing carpentry work across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, carpentry, and site safety, with the ability to adapt to diverse responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Prior experience in restoration industry settings is highly valued, along with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Housing is available if required.

Duties

  • Administer first aid and respond promptly to medical emergencies on-site, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist with general labour tasks including heavy lifting, material handling, and site cleanup.
  • Perform carpentry work such as framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, fixture installation, and cabinetry.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and CNC equipment safely and efficiently for various construction activities.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute projects involving rebar installation, metal stud framing, roofing, siding, and drywall.
  • Conduct concrete forming, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, and masonry work as needed.
  • Support restoration projects including water damage remediation, mold removal, water damage restoration, and general site repairs.
  • Assist with construction estimating and project planning when required.
  • Follow safety procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects such as electrical work, plumbing installation, cabinetry fabrication, and fixture setup.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fabrication techniques.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and specialized equipment relevant to carpentry and construction tasks.
  • Strong background in various construction disciplines including framing (wood and metal), roofing, siding, drywall installation (including metal studs), flooring (tile and other materials), masonry, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration.
  • Knowledge of the restoration industry standards including mold remediation and water damage repair.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in physically demanding environments.
  • Skilled in fixture installation (lighting fixtures or cabinetry), door hanging, renovation activities, construction painting, caulking, rebar installation, plumbing basics, electrical experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with schematics for electrical or mechanical systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with hands-on craftsmanship in carpentry and general construction tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team environment while adhering to safety standards. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
