Field HSER Rotational Consultant

Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
We are currently looking for Field HSER Rotational Consultant to join our Fort St. John or Grande Prairie operating areas.
Reporting to the Team Lead- Field HSER the successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not limited to:
- Position is field based, with a rotational schedule.
- Support and provide guidance regarding Tourmaline's HSER programs.
- Responsible for promoting a positive HSER attitude and instilling commitment among all Tourmaline work groups (employees, contractors and vendors) by encouraging them to support, participate and comply with company HSER initiatives.
- Provide expertise, guidance and support on HSER issues during operational activities including turnarounds, projects, etc.
- Participate in the incident investigations and assist in determining root causes and preventative actions for incidents.
- Complete routine field inspections of Tourmaline operations and provide feedback to the businesses on continuous improvement opportunities/observations.
- Participate in area meetings (HSE, Project Kick-off, Vendor, etc.)
- Read and understand Tourmaline's procedures, processes and best practices.
- Provide expertise, guidance and support on HSE issues during operational activities including turnarounds, pre job meetings, etc.
- Assist in the HSER annual reporting (eg: GHG, Benzene, NPRI, etc.)
- Participate and assist in emergency response of events
- Play a lead role within area incident management including the review and follow-up of all incidents within the area.
- Support and participate in area Synergy groups.
- Be a point contact for local regulatory bodies (OGC, WorkSafe BC, etc.),
- Assist in the development and management of the area liability management process, this can include but not limited to the area Abandonment, Remediation and Reclamation (ARR) program.
- Be an area champion for the HSER systems and tools.
- Provide area specific guidance to the HSER team on initiatives (eg: SWP, SDS's, procedures, GHG's, etc.)
- Provide assistance to other operating regions/areas as required.
Description of Candidate:
- Minimum ten (10+) years direct related work experience in Field HSER.
- Experience working in upstream oil & gas operations is required.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet timely deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment; can function well with little direction.
- Positive and upbeat attitude.
- Takes pride and ownership in their work.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
