We are looking for a reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication point for all dispatch related calls and requests in our Access Solutions division. This role will entail receiving requests, transmitting messages and organizing trucking services. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, able to multi-task as well as take appropriate action with little supervision. The goal in this position is to ensure all trucking services are coordinated accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Receive calls and emails to organize trucking services and dispatch related requests.
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing resolutions.
- Receive and dispatch orders for trucking services and deliveries.
- Use of both a phone and computer to send trucks, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations.
- Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate their schedules.
- Provide all field units information about locations, traffic, obstacles and requirements; and
- Additional and alternative duties that may be changed from time-to-time by the Employer.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years proven experience as a dispatcher or relevant position
- Tech-savvy knowledge of relevant methods of transport
- Exceptional data entry skill and typing speed
- Proficient in English (oral and written); Active listener with excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Sound judgement and critical thinking skill set
