Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide resident engineering services during the construction phase of a major infrastructure project in the Lower Mainland. This role is based on-site and involves close collaboration with contractors, design teams, and project stakeholders to ensure that structural works are executed in accordance with design specifications and safety standards. This is a new position for the team.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and inspect structural works, including foundations, superstructures, platforms, canopies, and ancillary structures at multiple locations.
· Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
· Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical issues and field changes.
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract documents.
· Participate in site meetings, progress reviews, and safety inspections.
· Prepare daily reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and field memos.
· Support the Project Manager in managing construction quality.
· Liaise with design engineers to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and design clarifications.
· Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and method statements related to structural works.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
· A minimum of four (4) years of experience in structural engineering, including at least two years in construction site supervision.
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Six years of experience in transit infrastructure or station construction.
· Strong knowledge of structural systems, concrete and steel construction, and relevant codes (e.g., CSA, ACI, AISC).
· Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
· Valid driver's license (site is not accessible by public transit).
· Experience with public sector infrastructure projects.
· Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam).
