Position Summary

Scotia Garden Seafood's Meal and Oil Division manufactures fish and poultry products to produce protein meals and oils. The individual will assist in production activities and will report to the Plant Supervisor.

Position Details

  • Starting wage $19.65 ($20.65 with nighttime premium). Higher wages available with appropriate experience/qualifications. Room to advance from entry level to higher paying positions within the operations.
  • Full-time
  • Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, LTD, Critical Illness, EFAP, Employer Contributed RRSP).
  • 40 hours per week, must be willing to work overtime and evenings
  • Located in Short Beach, NS

Main Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment during production
  • Complete production documentation as required
  • Receive raw material
  • Operate forklift/skid steer
  • Load meal and oil trucks
  • Plant sanitation

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in a production setting considered an asset.
  • Training will be provided.

Work Environment

Processing plant environment which includes loud noise and variable temperatures. Employees are required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay: $19.65-$21.85 per hour
