We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Boom Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating boom equipment to support filming and production activities, ensuring safety and efficiency on set. This role requires strong communication skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with facilities maintenance, custodial tasks, or commercial cleaning is a plus, along with familiarity with hand tools and power tools. The Boom Operator plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe workspace while supporting the technical needs of production crews.
Duties
- Operate boom microphones during filming to capture high-quality audio while maintaining safety protocols.
- Assist with facilities maintenance and custodial tasks to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the production environment.
- Use hand tools and power tools for equipment setup, adjustments, and minor repairs as needed.
- Manage heavy lifting requirements for equipment setup or moving supplies across the set or facility.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to coordinate timing and positioning for optimal audio capture.
- Maintain communication with crew members to ensure smooth operations during filming schedules.
- Support general cleaning duties around the set or facility to uphold health and safety standards.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic facilities maintenance techniques.
- Experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work is advantageous.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members.
- Effective time management skills to meet tight schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods.
- Attention to detail in maintaining equipment, set cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions. This position offers an engaging opportunity for individuals interested in supporting film production through technical expertise and hands-on maintenance skills. Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
