Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Educator to join our vibrant childcare team. In this pivotal role, you will inspire and guide young learners through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and growth. As a Lead Educator, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development, literacy, and early childhood skills. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help support a team of staff to shape a positive learning experience for every child, ensuring they feel valued, safe, and excited to explore the world around them.
We believe in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Our locations at 255 Royal York Rd., 69 Long Branch Ave., and 46 Mimico, Etobicoke, ON, are on the lookout for Registered Early Childhood Educators who share our commitment to excellence in Early Childhood Education.
If you're looking for a stable and supportive role at a reputable establishment, this opportunity is for you
What qualities are we looking for in our educators at the Rec Room Child Care?
- Passion Working with Younger and Older Children. You love working with children and aspire to help them grow and develop. You are also motivated to provide the best care and education tailored to their specific stages of development.
- Value Working in a Team. You are open to guide a team of educators and work in collaboration with supervisors, to provide clear instructions, structured environments and brainstorming support. We are looking for a program lead who is a team player and who works well with their team members to support the needs of the children, families, and staff.
- Preference for a Stable, Supportive, and Engaging Work Environment. You enjoy simply being around children and implementing an age-appropriate curriculum that supports the developmental milestones of different age groups.
- Accepting of an Inclusive Culture: You want to be part of a team that celebrates diversity and promotes an atmosphere of inclusion, cooperation, and sharing. We value your voice and ideas - and our approach ensures that you are heard, supported, and mentored, allowing you to thrive in your role.
- Open to an Innovative Curriculum: You are comfortable caring for children using an emergent curriculum, which focuses on nature, loose parts, and risky play — allowing children to explore, experiment, and make strong friendships.
- Community and Collaboration: You want to work with a team that fosters positive and responsive interactions among children, families, and staff, creating a sense of belonging and well-being for everyone involved
Your Responsibilities to Promote Development:
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for the Children in your care. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children always.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans and activities with modifications using Universal Design for Learning. This will involve activities that foster independence and critical thinking. The curriculum will be uniquely challenging to stimulate their problem-solving skills..
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, including the ability to handle difficult conversations and discuss children's developmental progress.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities and behavior.
- Create and implement Individual Support Plans when required and can advocate for children's individual needs.
