About Our Client

Our client is a leading multinational organization with manufacturing operations globally, renowned for operational excellence and global reach. The company is seeking a strategic, hands-on Finance Director for their manufacturing operations in Montreal, Quebec to optimize financial performance and drive future growth within its overseas operations.

About the Role

  • Lead all aspects of strategic financial management, including budget planning, financial statement preparation, cash flow monitoring, and accounting processes.
  • Oversee cash flow management, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyse annual and departmental budgets; monitor salary, IT, and operational costs; maintain ERP systems and financial calendars.
  • Manage month-end closing, inventory reconciliation, cost allocations, review financial statements, variance analysis, and results presentation to management.
  • Ensure robust financial procedures, update and maintain SOPs, and train staff in financial policy compliance.
  • Support cross-functional departments and participate in management committees for strategic planning.
  • Oversee financial audits, inventory counts, tax filings, profitability analyses, and produce management reports and KPIs.
  • Approve major expenditures, conduct risk assessment, and administer payroll activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related discipline; CPA is mandatory.
  • At least 15-18 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge in costing and trend spend management experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office; knowledge of client rebate and discount management preferred.
  • Proven organizational, leadership, and communication skills, building credibility across international teams.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with the ability to deliver under deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and French is essential and knowledge in Chinese is an advantage.
