Duties

  • Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, or portioning items under supervision.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by bussing tables and clearing dishes promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and dining spaces to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Help with food handling procedures in accordance with safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness.
  • Support catering and banquet events by setting up serving stations and assisting with food presentation when needed.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines diligently to promote a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Assist in inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing or maintenance issues that require attention.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
  • Basic understanding of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks comfortably.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues during busy shifts.
  • Attention to detail when cleaning and organizing to maintain high hygiene standards.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Experience with banquet service or catering is a plus but not mandatory.
