Technical Consulting Director, Geology

As a Technical Consulting Director, Geology based in Canada, you will be expected to operate as a resource estimation practitioner at all times to the highest standards. You will conduct geological services in accordance with the instructions from ERM management in a professional and ethical manner. Through the quality of your work, you will help promote the company to existing and potential clients and generate work for yourself and other ERM employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Validate drill hole and other geological data upon receipt from clients.
Review quality assurance procedures and quality control data provided by the client.
Develop 3D models of geological features to support Mineral Resource estimation.
Perform statistical and geostatistical analysis of data.
Conduct grade interpolation using appropriate techniques.
Validate grade interpolation.
Report Mineral Resource estimation results in accordance with the CIM and JORC Code (or other international codes as required).
Conduct site visits (domestic and international) and laboratory inspections as required.
Act as a Qualified Person under the NI Standards where appropriate.
Assist with corporate assignments (due diligence, independent technical assessments) as required.
Integrate resource evaluation activities with other divisions of ERM including Data Management, Exploration, Mining, and Corporate.
Develop and manage client relationships.
Undertake business development on behalf of ERM.
Take on people leadership activities and grow the technical team in Canada.
Comply with relevant legislative requirements and HSE management system policies and procedures.
Wear, use, and maintain provided personal protective equipment and report any unsafe practices or conditions.
Ensure that their actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
High standard of technical geological knowledge of one or more commodities (precious metals, copper, iron ore, manganese, etc.).
High level of Mineral Resource estimation skills.
Good knowledge of at least one mining software package (Leapfrog Edge, Datamine, Isatis, etc.).
Ability to develop and manage client relationships and networks within the resource sector.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Tertiary degree in Geology (MSc, PhD highly regarded).
Professional Geologist in at least one Canadian Province.
Minimum of 8+ years of comprehensive experience working in a geological/mining environment.
Strong technical knowledge of resource estimation processes.
Thorough knowledge of international standards, reporting requirements, and codes from other jurisdictions (CIM, SAMREC, JORC, etc.).
Strong knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment for resource management.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Flexibility with hours and work locations.
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
For the Technical Consulting Director, Geology position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $153,422 – $185,000 (CAD). An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
