Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Glass Installer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will assist with measuring, preparing, and installing glass in residential and commercial settings. This position is perfect for someone eager to learn the trade, develop technical skills, and grow within a professional glass installation environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your typical day will include:

  • Assisting the Lead Installer in measuring glass openings accurately using tape measures and laser levels.
  • Carrying, lifting, and positioning glass panels safely on-site and in the shop.
  • Helping with the installation of frameless showers, railings, mirrors, and partitions.
  • Using hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, levels, and suction cups.
  • Supporting with drilling holes, installing hardware, and applying silicone or caulking.
  • Cleaning glass after installation to ensure a spotless final finish.
  • Loading and unloading materials from company vehicles.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area before, during, and after each job.
  • Following all safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Communicating clearly with team members and clients as needed.

Experience & Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in construction, glass, or a related trade preferred (will train the right candidate).
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling glass safely (team lifting up to 100 lbs).
  • Valid G driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.

About the Role

This position offers hands-on experience in custom glass installation and the opportunity to advance toward a Lead Installer role. We value teamwork, safety, and quality craftsmanship, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in supporting high-end installations across the GTA.

Job Types: Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
