Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:

As our next Stock Room Co-op Student, you'll be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities and inventory management in the stockroom, including receiving, issuing, recording, and supporting stockroom process improvement initiatives. You'll report to the Maintenance Manager.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Receive parts and materials into CMS and EAM systems.

  • Verify supplier shipments (quantities, descriptions) and unpack/place products in designated stocking locations.

  • Issue and record parts to internal customers at the stockroom window/counter.

  • Perform physical and cycle inventory counts.

  • Maintain accurate manual and computerized records.

  • Record stock outs and return unused/defective parts to outside vendors.

  • Prepare repair parts for shipment to repair vendors, including contacting vendors, arranging pick-up, and reviewing repair quotes with maintenance.

  • Assist in expediting supplier shipments (backup) under the direction of the MRO Coordinator.

  • Participate in a stockroom improvement project (TBD), such as:

  • Mapping current processes and recommending 1–2 improvements.

  • Documenting current work instructions.

  • Identifying potential cost savings opportunities.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Adhere to Johnson Electric's policies, procedures, Safety, and Environmental practices.

  • Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 are conformed to.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Student enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Distribution, or a related field.
  • Experience in customer service or stockroom environment is an asset.

Technical & Skill Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word.

  • Motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities and a good work ethic.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

  • Knowledge of maintenance, repair, operations (MRO) or production products is an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands):

  • Frequent standing, walking, and light lifting of parts and materials.

  • Some work in manufacturing and warehouse environments requiring PPE.

  • Occasional time at a computer workstation.

  • Requirement for accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressures.
