Job Summary
The Laundry Guys is a busy, community focused laundromat offering self serve laundry, wash and fold, commercial laundry, and dry cleaning services. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Laundry Facility Manager to oversee daily operations at our Kamloops laundry facility locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive janitorial and custodial experience, and a background in service or retail. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and maintaining efficient laundry processes to support our organization's operational needs. The Laundry Facility Manager will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining excellent customer service, ensuring a safe and clean environment and supporting the growth and retention of both self-serve and commercial laundry customers.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations at both locations.
- Support staff with scheduling, training, coaching, feedback and addressing performance issues and assist with hiring when needed.
- Ensure that staff are conducting themselves professionally at all times.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure timely completion of laundry tasks while maintaining high-quality standards
- Monitor equipment performance, schedule maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
- Enforce safety, security, and company protocols while ensuring compliance with health regulations within the laundry facility
- Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, detergents, and other necessary materials
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company policies
- Assist with growing wash & fold and commercial laundry accounts, including promoting these services to potential customers
- Prepare reports on operational performance, staff productivity, and maintenance requirements to ownership
- Identify opportunities to improve services and customer experience
- Delivery pick up and drop off using company vehicle
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising staff (service or retail preferred)
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- BC Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions (Drivers abstract required)
- Knowledge of laundry processes and equipment operation preferred
- Background in retail or hospitality management is an asset but nor required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
- Familiarity with cleaning standards, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance in custodial services
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple locations
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Work Environment & Schedule
- 40 hour week flexible schedule, including some evening and weekends as needed
- Combination of office, floor supervision and customer interaction
- Travel between two local Kamloops locations is required
Compensation and Growth
- Wage is negotiable for the right candidate with relevant experience
- Opportunities for wage increases as skills and responsibilities grow
- Stable hours in a supportive, team based environment
- Bonus structure to be negotiated
Successful candidate must be able to start end of January.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
