Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work with a professional team in a dynamic environment, utilizing both driving skills and equipment operation expertise.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety standards.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks, including automotive repairs when necessary, to ensure optimal truck performance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipping documentation, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel regarding delivery status and any issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required, supporting warehouse or loading activities.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or damage during transportation and loading/unloading processes.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is desirable.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, lift heavy objects, and perform routine vehicle inspections.
