Position Summary: The Production Supervisor- Glass will play a vital role by overseeing the workflow management of the production department ensuring safe, accurate, and timely processing of client orders. The Production Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to department employees, plan for production requirements, maintain production goals, implement manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives ensuring safety requirements are met and maintained as well as overseeing departmental inventory levels.Working within a small team, the right candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality work, with a "roll up your sleeves" kind of attitude.
About the Role:
Stage Windows & Doors is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our Glass Department. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise in glass fabrication, assembly, and production workflows, combined with proven leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will drive productivity, quality, safety, and team engagement, ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of glass production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Glass Department team, fostering a positive, engaged, and safe work culture.
- Ensure daily production targets are met by effectively allocating resources, managing staffing, and monitoring workflow.
- Supervise and coordinate employees involved in assembling window frames, installing hardware, glazing, welding, and other glass production tasks.
- Review production schedules and coordinate with internal departments to optimize material flow, manpower, and equipment usage.
- Analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct time studies, monitor KPIs, and maintain accurate production records using ERP systems or other tracking tools.
- Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, conducting safety talks, monitoring PPE use, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Handle escalations and conflicts professionally, providing coaching and implementing long-term solutions.
- Audit quality of output, enforce standards, and develop action plans to address gaps.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and updates for senior management on production performance, team progress, and operational challenges.
- Ensure all production equipment is maintained and downtime is minimized.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, helping to build a high-performing team.
Technical Skills & Requirements:
- Preferably Hands-on experience with glass handling and fabrication, including cutting, tempering, laminating, and assembling Insulated Glass Units (IGUs).
- Strong understanding of different glass types (tempered, laminated, insulated) and their applications.
- Knowledge of windows and doors production workflows, including casement lines.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment.
- Experience with ERP, production tracking systems, or spreadsheets to monitor output, inventory, and defects.
- Skilled in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
Leadership & Management Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years in a supervisory role in a dynamic manufacturing environment, preferably within windows, doors, or glass production.
- Proven ability to lead complex teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive accountability.
- Experience conducting performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring staff to achieve individual and team goals.
- Background in time studies, production planning, and workflow optimization.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build and maintain an engaged, motivated, and high-performing team.

- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Discipline, punctuality, and a focus on creating a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment.
Education & Experience:
- Postgraduate education or relevant Trades certification.
- Leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably glass production, window/door assembly, or related sectors.
- Experience managing projects, process improvements, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in residential or commercial window and door manufacturing, curtain walls, storefront glass, or other glass fabrication.
- Familiarity with double- or triple-pane IGU assembly and glazing.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices within a glass production environment.
