Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role located in Mountain View County, AB, with the flexibility for some remote work. As a Java Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems that power web applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing scalable code, implementing API integrations, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting issues. You will contribute to developing technical solutions to meet business needs while ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in core Java programming, object-oriented programming, and frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate
  • Experience with RESTful API development, database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and SQL programming
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and automated testing frameworks
  • Understanding of cloud services, such as AWS or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude for debugging and performance optimization
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional teamwork
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus
