Position Overview

MetaFactor is hiring a Calgary based System Integration Engineer preferably with Upstream Oil & Gas and/or Power/Utility industry experience to join our team. This position requires experience working with AVEVA PI, AspenTech IP.21, Capstone DataParc, Wonderware, AVEVA System Platform, Canary Labs and/or Honeywell PHD Data historians. Experience with SCADA and related systems including Inmation, Ignition, and VT SCADA would also be preferred. The ideal candidate would also have some experience with Azure streaming solutions, Microsoft Power Platform, and SQL/No-SQL database systems.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors or Master's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 2 years relevant experience in upstream Oil and Gas and or power industries. We will only consider and shortlist Alberta-based candidates for interview.

Key Responsibilities

The System Integration Engineer will be responsible for performing the duties listed below including:

Commissioning of plant and corporate historian systems and associated data integrations

  • Designing and implementing software and data analysis solutions that leverage historian data.
  • Using one or more software technologies identified above.
  • Quality assurance/regression testing of software solutions.
  • System architecture design and documentation

In addition to utilizing vendor-supplied integration packages, the need will occasionally arise to write custom code for interfacing with these systems. For this reason, working experience with one or more of the following software technologies is preferred:

C# and ASP.NET

  • Python
  • Go
  • NodeJS and Node-Red
  • Excel VBA
  • PowerShell
  • SQL
