Focused Solutions Counselling and Coaching is a well-established private practice in the heart of Canmore. We provide high-quality, compassionate counselling to individuals, couples, and families throughout the Bow Valley and across Alberta. We are expanding our team and inviting skilled, reflective, and growth-oriented psychologists to join our collaborative, supportive environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Registered Psychologist (or eligible for registration in Alberta) who practices from a strength-oriented, client-centred approach such as Solution-Focused Therapy or Narrative Therapy, and who is competent in one or more of the following approaches:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

  • Biofeedback (equipment required)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Play Therapy

  • Reunification Therapy

  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 2 or 3)

  • Sex Therapy

  • Somatic Experiencing

  • Sports Psychology

Preferred Areas of Competence (or willingness to become trained):

  • Chronic pain

  • High-conflict relationships

  • Men's issues

  • Parenting time / parenting accessibility assessments

  • Treatment-resistant depression or anxiety

  • LGBTQI+ support

Competency in other areas will also be considered.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Psychology

  • Registration (or eligibility) with the College of Alberta Psychologists

  • Professional liability insurance
