We are proud to be partnering with a leading firm that has a well established office in Calgary, as they search for a skilled and registered Architect with the AAA to join their busy office. This firm are recognised for their success across a range of sectors and for their excellent service delivery.

THE JOB
As a Registered Architect With The AAA Or Eligible To Become Registered In Alberta, You Will Be Involved In The Following

  • Works energetically with the project team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
  • Liaises with client through various phases of the project to ensure client satisfaction; project management
  • Work with establishing, maintaining and adherence to project budget and schedule.
  • Supervises preparation of technical drawings by other less experienced architects or professionals.
  • Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawings.
  • Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and Best Practice standards.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Provide support to less experienced staff
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team
  • Writes reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.
  • Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for coordination.
  • Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
  • Participates in project reviews regarding project costs, budgets and adherence to schedule.
  • Communicates in a clear, concise, and professional manner at all times, both verbally and in writing and will have regular interface with clients.

This is a role requiring a well rounded skillset, capable of working on all phases of projects from start to finish.

What You Need To Succeed

  • 8 + years of relevant industry experience
  • Possess a range of project experience including either public, cultural, mixed use and institutional project work behind you
  • Excellent design skills, creative and able to work through design issues
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines is also essential
  • Strong experience and knowledge of the national building code and bylaws
  • Familiarity with Revit, strong sense of design
  • Strong sense of work ethic, a collaborative approach
  • Possess a strong portfolio of work
  • Leadership skills are an asset
