Greenhouse Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques to deliver competitive bids and support the company's growth.

Duties

• Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of scope, materials, labour, and other relevant factors.
• Utilize specialized software tools and manual calculations to estimate costs for materials, labour, equipment, and other project expenses.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate prices with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for project components.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs and timelines and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, quotes, and relevant correspondence for reference and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that estimates align with project objectives and timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address questions, clarify requirements, and provide transparency regarding cost estimates and budget considerations. Conduct reviews and evaluations of completed project to analyze actual costs versus estimated costs and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure that estimates are prepared in accordance with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong Excel and computer skills including all MS Office programs.
• Good organizational skills, detail oriented, critical reasoning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documents and drawings.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
