Position Summary
The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium is seeking a dynamic and community-minded individual to join our team as the Community Engagement Coordinator
. This multifaceted role is designed to strengthen our connection with the community, enhance patron experiences, and support sponsorship initiatives that sustain and grow our programming.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives to build relationships with local business, charities, organizations, schools, artists, and cultural groups.
- Coordinate community-based events, educational programs, and audience development strategies.
- Represent the Auditorium at public events and forums to promote its mission and programming.
Sponsorship and Corporate Sales & Coordination
- Identify, cultivate, and secure sponsorships and partnerships with local and regional businesses.
- Identify and support private event bookings including but not limited to pre-show events and corporate gatherings
- Prepare sponsorship proposals, agreements, and reports.
- Maintain sponsor relationships through regular communication, benefit fulfillment, and recognition.
Front-of-House Patron Hospitality
- Support front-of-house operations during performances and events, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Collaborate with box office, ushers, and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with patron inquiries, accessibility needs, and hospitality enhancements.
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication Skills
– verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders. - Event Coordination Experience
– including planning, logistics, and on-site execution. - Sales and Marketing Acumen
– ability to develop compelling sponsorship packages and close deals. - Customer Service Orientation
– proven ability to create positive patron experiences in a fast-paced environment. - Relationship Building
– strong interpersonal skills to foster community and sponsor connections. - Organizational Skills
– ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities effectively. - Technical Proficiency
– familiarity with CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Flexibility and Availability
– willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Preferred Certifications
- Certification in
Event Management
,
Fundraising
, or
Customer Service Excellence
. - Valid
Ontario Driver's License
(Class G) for occasional travel and outreach. - First Aid/CPR Certification
(preferred for front-of-house support).
