to join our team.

Role Description

As an Intermediate Environmental Professional, you can expect to spend time both in the field and in the office. In addition to always adhering to Strum's health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed, your typical day may also include the following:


• Completing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment (ESAs) including both field and reporting tasks


• Coordinating field programs, including all aspects of safety (e.g., ground disturbance) and subcontractors (e.g., drillers)


• Overseeing the drilling of boreholes using various techniques, logging soil, collecting soil samples, and field-screening soil samples


• Installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells and collecting groundwater samples


• Collecting other types of field samples as needed (e.g., surface water, air, asbestos, lead paint, etc.)


• Compiling clear, concise, and accurate field notes


• Tracking and managing field costs and project expenses


• Coordinating/liaising with clients


• Preparing regulatory submissions including Records of Site Condition


• Supporting existing field and reporting teams while demonstrating the ability to work independently and as part of a larger close-knit team

Qualifications:


• You have a degree or diploma from a post-secondary education program related to environmental studies, geoscience, or environmental engineering.


• You have 3 to 7 years of relevant field-based experience.


• You are proficient in English (written and spoken).


• You possess a valid, unrestricted Canadian Driver's License.
